When a vehicle accident happens in Ukraine, the event must be reported to the Ukrainian Road Traffic Inspection - otherwise the insurer of the person who caused the accident will not be liable for the arising claims.

Broker's role

Why use a broker?

In the present-day economic environment, many companies and organizations find themselves unable to optimise insurance-related matters with the sole use of their personnel. This happens because of:
  • the specific nature of insurance terminology and procedures,
  • frequent changes affecting the position of insurers,
  • the complex character of an insurance contract,
  • the supply of increasingly complicated insurance products
  • insufficient knowledge of the insurance market.

As a result, modern insurance markets have developed the institution of independent insurance brokers, i.e. highly specialised experts, dedicated to support the Clients and their interests before the insurer. Since its shift to a market-oriented economy in the early 1990s, Poland has adopted suitable legislation, providing for the operation of insurance brokers.

The contemporary demand for increasingly advanced services requires insurance brokers to possess and integrate the following assets:
  1. Practical knowledge of how modern economic entities and organizations operate, including the financial, legal, and risk management aspects
  2. Sound understanding of market mechanisms
  3. In-depth knowledge and vast experience in numerous types of insurance
  4. Organisational efficiency, meant for current customer service and flexible response to their needs.

The principal tasks of an insurance broker include:
  1. Current monitoring of the insurance market, especially the credibility of insurers and the quality of services they render to Clients
  2. Analyses of available insurance products
  3. Assistance to the Client regarding the choice between the security offered by insurance and the cost it entails
  4. Commitment in the process of arrangement and conclusion of insurance contracts, especially negotiations of the terms and conditions of insurance
  5. Assistance to the Client in the handling and settlement of claims.
