Polish owners of vehicles have a legal obligation to raise their minimum insurance cover against third-party claims as of Jan 1, 2006. The amended law on obligatory insurance stipulates that the lowest cover for bodily injuries must amount to €1.5 million per event, instead of €350.000 per every injured person, while the required cover for damaged property must equal at least €300.000 per event.

Broker's role

Brokers organizations

The Association of Polish Insurance and Reinsurance Brokers is an organisation, which was founded in 1992 to establish proper ethical foundations and promote a sense of integrity of the emerging community of Polish brokers. Since that time the association has earned a good reputation and a high-profile position among institutions which contribute to the image of Poland's insurance market. As the largest organization of Polish brokers, the association is also active on the international scene.

Immediately after launching its brokerage operation, PROSPECTOR joined the work of the organisation and took an active part in all subsequent stages of its development. The first Congress of Polish Insurance and Reinsurance Brokers, held in 1998, adopted the Ethical Code of Conduct, a document indicating to the association members the standards of ethical and honest conduct, among them the obligation to act in good faith and identify the Client's interest as the broker's own fundamental goal. The principles of the Code of Conduct, supported by our delegation at the initial congress, perfectly fit into PROSPECTOR's company philosophy - our Passion in finding solutions is meant for our Clients. PROSPECTOR is also engaged in the work of the Polish Chamber of Insurance and Reinsurance Brokers, which was established in 2002 with our company as one of the founding members. The chamber's major task is to express and protect the interests of insurance broker firms with respect to the changing conditions and legal environment regarding Poland's accession to the European Union.
